We Need to talk about Ezra Miller

Star of 'We Need to talk about Kevin' a book adaptation staring Tilda Swinton and directed by Lynne Ramsey, Era Miller is defiantly one to watch. Ezra, who you may have also seen in Another happy Day, City Island and Californication is not new to the acting game. Miller who has been acting professionally sense he left high school at the tender age of 16 has well and truly made his mark. His haunting and impressive performance in the film We need to talk about Kevin that both shocked and excited Cannes last year.

Though will his next project The Perks of Being a Wallflower, released October 2012 secure the hype about his talent sense rising to fame? I hope so, but I doubt so. 'The Perks of being a wallflower' is originally a novel written by Stephen Chbosky, and one of my all time favourites. Depicting the trials and tribulations of being a shy intellectual teen, with an extraordinary mind, and a lacking sense social skills. When reading the book, it really is begging to be made into a motion picture, although the kind reminiscent of good independent teen films such as Dazed and Confused or Charlie Bartlett. Not an over produced, bubble gum pop film, consisting of shiny actors, white teeth and 28 year old gym fanatics playing 15 year old boys. Surely if Ezra Miller is cast to play one of the main character in such a film, this is impossible, I hear you ask? Well no, Harry Potter's sweetheart Emma Watson plays the love interest Sam, while Charlie (the main character) is played by former star of the Percy Jackson kids films Logan Lerman. With this almost sickening line up of actors, we might as well throw in a whimpering Kristen Stewart and a deep breathing and topless Taylor Lautner just to amp up the whiff of Hollywood cheese factor. Miller's peers within the cast scream money maker, not life changer. Giving the feeling that it won't do any justice to the book itself. Although Chbosky is directing the film, I feel as though he's sold out, and that in october a lot of his fans will be highly disappointed. lets just say I'm not waiting with baited breath, but we shall see...

One thing is for sure Ezra Miller will be good, as always.
